Direct and indirect speech can be a source of confusion for English learners. Let's first define the terms, then look at how to talk about what someone said, and how to convert speech from direct to indirect or vice-versa.

10. The teacher

11. Richard asked to his niece if he was hungry or sick?
Richard said “Niece are you hungry or sick?”
12. The teacher
said to the students, “are you tired or lazy”?
The teacher asked to the students, if they are tired

13. Edgar said to
Mary “Will you came to my house if I invite you?”

14. The teacher said, “I´m hungry and twisty”.
